6th Sense: Final gathering and exhibition

What happens when photography stops being a technical act and becomes a tool for listening to oneself? You’ll have the chance to find out on Friday, November 7th at 6:30 p.m. at the Sonda Creative Center. Entry is free.

The project “Sixth Sense” was born from the idea that the creative process can become a space for self-discovery – a place where the camera lens becomes an extension of one’s inner gaze, and every photograph a trace of a moment of complete presence.

Over the past month, through five masterclass sessions, participants have gone through a series of intuitive and experiential exercises from exploring their own feelings and associations to observing the world around them in a new way. Instead of classical technical approaches, the focus was on developing sensory awareness and learning how to “see” with the heart, not just with the eyes.

The workshops guided participants through a process of discovering their personal expression and rhythm of creation, listening to their inner voice, and recognizing the moment through emotion and sensation. Through this process, they also built trust in their own intuition. The meetings became a space of trust and support – without criticism, but filled with sharing and listening. Each participant explored their own theme, using photography as a path toward self-understanding. The resulting works carry a personal signature and intimate story, forming together a mosaic of different perspectives, sensitivities, and experiences.

The final presentation of works marks a gentle closing of this shared journey – a moment of gratitude, inspiration, and connection. The photographs on display emerged from exploration and trust in the inner voice and serve as small reminders of how creativity can become a space of personal growth and light. The participants’ works reveal small worlds discovered through the lens: inner landscapes, silences, and traces of their own gaze.

This is how mentor Lorna Kijurko describes the Inner Light experience:

In a world that often rushes and pulls our attention outward, ‘Sixth Sense’ invites us to turn toward the light within. It is a way of seeing beyond the surface, exercising one’s own voice and exploring through the creative process. Through the act of creating, a space for personal growth opens up. I place attention on the process—on content that does not impose, but invites. Various exercises become experiences that build trust in one’s own vision (a practical approach to creative work).I draw from photography, art direction, visual arts, and yoga to create a holistic approach that supports creativity, presence, and personal development. As a guide, I don’t offer answers – I open a space for questions, play, and discovery.

I’ve always seen creative expression as a powerful tool for self-development and inner well-being; especially in its simplest forms, where it feels like a vastness opens ‘around us’ and activates every part of our being. Even though life itself is one big creative act, we can deepen the invitation to self-discovery through a variety of practices.Participants gradually uncover their own voice, step out of the familiar, and allow themselves to experiment. They find their own rhythm and different ways of creating. I look forward to this shared experience: one that is not only visual, but personal and transformative.

I find value in their insights, in our exchanges, and even in the silence between the lines, because that’s often where the most important shifts begin. It fills me with joy to witness how, through visual language and the creative process, intuition awakens… along with confidence, a sense of personal truth, and the intimacy of one’s own expression. And I especially love the moment when each participant shares their unique perspective – bravely and sincerely.”

The project “Sixth Sense” is carried out with the financial support of the Region of Istria, organized by Udruga Sonda, under the professional guidance of Lorna Kijurko.
