In another “Design Starter” workshop, a program we run in collaboration with the Croatian Designers Society, high school students actively participated in designing furniture with a focus on eco-design.
We focused on exploring the EMPA set of tables and chairs, highlighting their practicality and ecological role. Together, we discovered what makes good design and discussed the importance of social responsibility. We were inspired by examples of best practices and environmentally sustainable solutions, then got to work designing our own similar products.
The impressions of the young participants best reflect the positive experience we shared!
The workshop was great, and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. The workshop leader gave an excellent presentation, and I learned a lot from him. Everything was fantastic, and the workshop was really interesting. We drew and modeled chairs, and now I can honestly say I understand what modeling is. (Oliver)
The workshop atmosphere was amazing, and the jazz music fit perfectly. The leader of the workshop was very engaging and fun. I didn’t expect we’d be drawing, and I really enjoyed it. We ended the workshop by presenting our work: we had to draw eco-friendly chairs and present them to the group. I hope there will be more workshops like this because this one showed me the direction toward my future career. (David)
The program is carried out with the support of Istria County – Regione Istriana.
